The asset was modelled inside Blender 3.6 using solely a hard surface approach whilst following the industry standard "High Poly - Low Poly" workflow. The model is comprised of four main components. Lever, choke, cage and explosive container. The finished model is comprised of 13 parts that have been stuck together to form the final M84 Stun Grenade. Ultimately, the goal of this project was to explore texturing and to increase my knowledge of PBR and its functionality from a technical standpoint. Throughout the process, I have learned how to create photoreal textures that hold up to scrutiny. Success!
--------------------Blockout---------------------
The model was blocked out against the UE5 mannequin (Manny) and cross-referenced between military schematics & illustrations to make sure the scale was as accurate as the real thing.
--------------------High Poly--------------------
A non-destructive modifier workflow was deployed to achieve the pattern on the cage to avoid a boolean workflow. The choke used a box modelling method with creased edges to minimise excess support loops.
-------------------Retopology-------------------
Removal of excess support loops and the removal of various modifiers.
---------------------Unwrap---------------------
Hand unwrapped between 1001 & 1002 because I can.

Textured inside Substance 3D Painter after looking at more PBR tutorials than I care to admit.
